Why now

Quarter-size hail reached Bonner Springs twice this year

The National Weather Service logged four hail reports for Bonner Springs in 2026, and every one of them is 1.00 inch. Two came in five minutes on the evening of March 10, three miles west and two miles southeast of town. Two more came five minutes apart on the evening of September 6, two miles southeast and two miles east.

Quarter size is the smallest hail the National Weather Service counts as severe. Whether it dented your car depends on the street, the panel and the stone, and that is what the inspection is for.

Dents do not settle out on their own. The only thing that changes while you wait is how long you have been driving a dented car.

The damage

What that size of hail does to a car

At 1.00 inch the size chart says quarter, and all four Bonner Springs reports are at that size. It is the low end of what the weather service counts as severe hail, so the question for any one car is whether it was parked where the stones landed.

Hail lands hardest on the flat, horizontal panels: hood, roof, trunk lid. Most owners do not see the full extent in daylight. It shows up under a low, raking light, which is why the inspection happens in person and not over photos.

Paintless dent repair works the metal back from behind the panel. When a panel qualifies for it, the factory paint is never touched. How paintless dent repair works.

Insurance

We handle the insurance side with you

Hail repair on a vehicle is handled through your auto insurance claim. That part is the same everywhere. What changes is who does the work of it.

You open the claim, because only the policyholder can. After that we document the damage, send the estimate, deal with your adjuster and file the supplement when the first estimate misses damage. You hear from us at every step rather than chasing anyone.

How a hail insurance claim works, step by step

Questions about your specific claim or policy? Bring them to the inspection. Every policy is a little different, and that is a conversation about your car, not a paragraph on a website.
