Where we work, and why it moves

Cranio Hail is a traveling crew. We go to the markets hail actually hit and work there while the damage is still on the cars. Right now that is Johnson, Miami and Wyandotte counties in Kansas.

How this works

There is no shop for you to drive to

Hail does not spread itself evenly across a state. It lands on a few counties in an afternoon and leaves thousands of dented cars in a place that has no idea who repairs them. So we go there.

When the crew is in a market, we work out of partner shops and we come to the vehicle for the inspection. The only registered location is in Lancaster, Texas, and it is not a place you need to visit. If your car is in a city on this page, the inspection happens where your car already is.

When we move to the next market, the inspection moves with us. That is the honest reason the timing matters more than most people expect.

What put the crew in Kansas

These are severe weather reports filed with the NOAA Storm Prediction Center. We did not write them and none of them is a claim about our work. Each storm hit a different county.

  1. April 15, 2026

    Miami County

Hail to 4.00 inches was reported at Paola, with 2.50 inches measured in the downtown. Osawatomie logged 2.50 inches, and a report four miles north-northeast of town put it at 2.75 inches, which the size chart calls baseball.

  2. April 27, 2026

    Johnson County

Before six in the morning, spotters reported hail up to 1.75 inches four miles southwest of Shawnee and two miles southwest of Olathe. That is golf ball size, and it is more than enough to dent a hood.

  3. August 18 to 19, 2026

    Wyandotte County

Overnight reports around Piper and Kansas City, Kansas reached 1.75 inches. Two of them describe photographs of a cracked windshield and a car with hail damage.

The full report-by-report record for the Spring Hill area, with the text of each report as it was filed, is on the Spring Hill page.

Franklin County had reports of its own on April 13, including 2.75 inches one mile north of Ottawa. That record is on the Ottawa page.

The biggest stone in the Kansas reports was four inches

That one came out of Paola on April 15. Drawn against a golf ball, which is already more than enough to dent a hood, it is the reason the crew moved.

A city gets its own page here when there is a storm record of its own to show. The rest are on the list because the crew reaches them, which is the part that decides whether your car gets looked at.

The largest stone reported in each Kansas city

Same storms, very different hail. This is why the cities are not interchangeable, and why the page for your city carries its own reports.
