The method

The dents come out from behind the panel

Hail lands hardest on the flat, horizontal panels: hood, roof, trunk lid. Paintless dent repair reaches the back of those panels and works the metal out from behind. When a panel qualifies for it, the factory paint is never sanded, filled or resprayed.

Most owners do not see how much is there. Hail damage shows up under a low, raking light, and it does not photograph reliably. A phone photo flattens the panel and hides dents that are plain to see in person, which is why the inspection happens at the vehicle and not over pictures.

Some damage cannot be repaired this way. Where conventional bodywork is required, we tell you before anything starts.

How paintless dent repair actually works

Three stages, seen from the side, through the thickness of a single panel.

Stage 01BEHIND THE PANEL

Hail lands on the flat panels

Hood, roof and trunk lid take it first. The metal gives, and the paint stretches with it instead of breaking.

Stage 02BEHIND THE PANEL

The rod works from behind

We reach the back of the panel and push the metal back to where it was, a little at a time.

Stage 03BEHIND THE PANELFACTORY PAINT

Nothing is sanded, filled or sprayed

The paint that leaves with you is the paint the factory put on. That is the whole point of the method.

Schematic, not to scale. The limit is the paint: where hail cracked or chipped it, paintless repair is the wrong tool and we say so at the inspection.

Where hail lands on a car

Hail falls close to vertical, so it collects on the flat panels and mostly misses the doors and the sides. Those three panels are where the damage count is decided.

Glass is not a dent. A cracked windshield or a damaged sunroof is a different trade and a different part of the estimate. We flag it at the inspection so it does not turn up as a surprise later.
Your part is small

You do three things. We do the rest.

  1. Tell us where the car is

    Booking takes about a minute.

  2. Let us look at it in person, under proper light

About 30 minutes. The inspection is free and there is no obligation afterwards.

  3. Decide

You will know exactly what we found before anything happens to your vehicle.

Seen under light

This is what we are looking for

The same vehicle, before and after

Straight lines reflected off a panel are how a dent is read.

The same black truck under the same shop lights. On the before half the reflected hexagons are shattered by hail dents. On the after half they are straight and clean.
The same black sedan photographed from the same spot, before and after paintless dent repair.
One car hood. On the before half, dozens of hail dents with several circled in marker. On the after half the same hood is smooth.

Every broken hexagon on the before side is an impact that daylight would hide. On the after side the lines run straight.

The paint on the after side is the paint the car left the factory with. Nothing was sanded, filled or sprayed to get there.

The dents on the before side are circled because most of them disappear in ordinary daylight. The after side is the same hood, and nothing was repainted.

“I have always heard about Hail Damage but never experienced one. When I did experience it the very first time I was shattered to see the kind of damage it did to my leased vehicle. Ceaser from Cranio Hail knocked at my door like an angel and took away all of my worries and brought the vehicle back to showroom condition.”

Insurance

We handle the insurance side with you

Hail repair on a vehicle is handled through your auto insurance claim. That part is the same everywhere. What changes is who does the work of it.

  • You open the claim. We take it from there.

Only the policyholder can open a claim, and it takes one phone call. After that we document the damage, send the estimate, and coordinate with your adjuster directly.

  • If the first estimate misses damage, we file the supplement.

Hail damage is routinely under-counted on a first look. Documenting what was missed and submitting it for review is part of the job, not an extra.

  • A loaner while your car is with us.

We can arrange a vehicle so you are not left without one during the repair. Ask about it at the inspection and we will sort out the details for your situation.

  • You hear from us at every step.

Estimate sent. Approval received. Repair started. Ready for delivery. You will not have to chase anyone for an update.

“I was updated through the entire process. Cesar was attentive to dealing with the insurance agency. Great company”

What happens after you file, step by step

Questions about your specific claim or policy? Bring them to the inspection. Every policy is a little different, and that is a conversation about your car, not a paragraph on a website.

Who pays for what

The question everybody asks first, laid out plainly.

Your carrier

The repair is paid through your policy

Hail is handled under the comprehensive part of an auto policy. The number does not come out of a price list we set. It comes out of a damage count that is documented in writing.

You

Your deductible is set by your policy

Not by us, and not by the shop you pick. Your carrier is the only one who can tell you what yours is, and it is worth asking before you file. We do not give insurance advice.

Cranio

The inspection costs you nothing

Free, about 30 minutes, and no obligation afterwards. If what we find does not justify a claim, we will tell you that, and you owe us nothing.

We are not a public adjuster. We do not represent you before your carrier and we cannot promise a coverage decision, a settlement or a timeline. What we can do is make sure the damage on your car is documented properly, because an estimate built on a bad look at the vehicle is how a hail claim ends up short.
After the repair

Every repair carries a lifetime warranty

Our team goes over the terms with you at the inspection, before any work is authorized. Bring the questions people actually ask: what it covers, and what would void it.

The written warranty terms come with your completed repair, and those written terms are what govern. You are never holding a line from a website.
