Why now

Hail reached Tonganoxie on October 13

The National Weather Service logged four hail reports for Tonganoxie in 2026. Three came within eighteen minutes in the early hours of April 27, all 1.00 inch: two miles north, three miles northwest and two miles east-northeast of town.

The fourth is the most recent. At 6:45 PM on October 13 the weather service logged 1.50 inch hail in Tonganoxie, with the note that a vehicle had dents and a cracked windshield.

Dents do not settle out on their own. The only thing that changes while you wait is how long you have been driving a dented car.

The damage

What that size of hail does to a car

At 1.00 inch the size chart says quarter and at 1.50 it says ping pong ball. Tonganoxie had a report at each, and the October 13 stone is the larger of the two.

Hail lands hardest on the flat, horizontal panels: hood, roof, trunk lid. Most owners do not see the full extent in daylight. It shows up under a low, raking light, which is why the inspection happens in person and not over photos.

Paintless dent repair works the metal back from behind the panel. When a panel qualifies for it, the factory paint is never touched. How paintless dent repair works.

Insurance

We handle the insurance side with you

Hail repair on a vehicle is handled through your auto insurance claim. That part is the same everywhere. What changes is who does the work of it.

You open the claim, because only the policyholder can. After that we document the damage, send the estimate, deal with your adjuster and file the supplement when the first estimate misses damage. You hear from us at every step rather than chasing anyone.

How a hail insurance claim works, step by step

Questions about your specific claim or policy? Bring them to the inspection. Every policy is a little different, and that is a conversation about your car, not a paragraph on a website.
